Welcome to BMDCO's Website

Serving Berner lovers in Oregon and SW Washington

Membership

GENEVAThe BMDCO welcomes new members! Membership is open to all those interested in the Bernese Mountain Dog.  You do not have to own a dog to be a member.  Just fill out the Membership Application and mail it along with payment to the address on the form.  Click here if you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader.  You will need it to download this pdf.

Please read the club's Constitution, Bylaws and the Code Of Conduct.  These outline our member's responsibility to their dogs, other members of the club, and to the Bernese Mountain Dog community as a whole.  The club promotes responsible dog ownership and breeding practices.  The club provides information and education to its members and the general public on the unique health and social requirements of the Bernese Mountain Dog.

Through participation in regional and national programs, the club supports activities to improve the breed through research and sound breeding methodologies.

SCHATZEEThe Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Oregon has a local breed Rescue Coordinator with responsibilities for assisting lost or displaced purebred and Bernese mixes. Rescue services include fostering, rehabilitation, healthcare, and placement of Bernese Mountain Dogs found or turned over to the club rescue coordinator.  Rescue services are supported through member donations and club fees.

Annual fees are $20 for individuals and $25 for couples/families.  We currently do not offer junior membership, but are working to establish this soon. Click here and fill out the Membership Application and send along with payment to the address on the form OR contact the Membership Coordinator.

Another thing our club offers for it's members is a very supportive Yahoo Group forum.  Here, our members generally share dog stories, ask for help with their Berner's behavioral issues, brag about their accomplishments with their Berners and also ask for support during their hard times when things aren't going so good with their Berner's health.  If you are a member and would like to be added to the Yahoo list, please contact our Yahoo List Coordinator.  It's a great place to learn new things.
